I recall having to stop-wait-watch alot (in MOS) when I was playing for all signia minus tokens. One thing I do recall is that there were much more guards per sq feet in MOS which contributed to the game's difficulty. I falt abilities were more powerful in the previous game, but I could be wrong since its been so long since then. Though conversely it also lets you go unarmed if you want a bigger challenge, so yeah. SoD also gives you much more powerful abilities. That's not to say MoS didn't have any shadows or cover, or that SoD didn't have wide open spaces or bright areas, but generally speaking you had to be a lot more cautious navigating around in MoS than in SoD. MoS had a lot of bright daytime maps, wide open spaces, sparse cover.
